Bigme HiBreak Plus Color now up for pre-order, get this new color E-ink Android phone for $249

If you love reading on your phone but hate the harsh screen glare, this device might be your perfect match. For those who want a dedicated e-reader experience without carrying a second device, Bigme has just released the latest addition to their lineup: the Bigme Hibreak Plus Color. This vibrant e-ink smartphone is designed to be as convenient for readers as it is versatile for creatives.

Display and Performance

The Bigme HibreakPlus Color features a 6.13" Kaleido 3 Color ePaper display. It delivers a sharp 300 PPI for black-and-white content and 150 PPI for color, ensuring text is crisp and images are clear. To handle different environments, it includes 36 levels of adjustable front light and an impressive 52 FPS refresh rate for smoother scrolling.

Unique to this model is its stylus support (available as a preorder bundle), allowing you to sketch, take notes, or annotate documents directly on the screen—even under direct sunlight.

Under the Hood

This device packs more than just a great screen:
  • Processor: Octa-core CPU with 4GB of RAM.
  • Storage: 64GB internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 2TB.
  • Connectivity: Dual 4G SIM slots
  • OS: Android 14
  • Battery: A robust 4500 mAh battery, which offers significantly better longevity than traditional OLED or LCD smartphones.
One thing to note: unlike its more powerful sibling, the Bigme HiBreak Pro Color, this model does not include NFC support.

Pricing and Availability

The Bigme Hibreak Plus Color is currently available for preorder at the official Bigme store for USD 249. If you want to maximize its creative potential, you can opt for the bundle—which includes a protective case and a stylus—for an additional USD 40.

How This Little Device Rekindled My Love for Reading

Just to be clear to everyone, I’m not that kind of a reader where I can just read a book in just one sitting, but I do love reading and books. When I was in elementary and high school, I would spend my spare time reading books in the library and every day I would borrow books that I can read at home. Books were a luxury for me at that time. There is a Japanese word for people who are like that – tsundoku ( 積ん読 ). Seeing those stacks of unread books makes me feel disappointed and every year I promise myself that I will read it all. Then I saw this little device online. It did not solve my “ tsundoku ” problem, but it somehow got me back to reading. My Exper...

Bigme soon to unveil HiBreak Dual, "World's First Dual-Screen Color E Ink + LCD Smartphone"

Just fresh off the release of the HiBreak Plus Color , Bigme is showing no signs of slowing down. The company recently teased its upcoming device: a dual-screen smartphone featuring a standard LCD screen on one side and a color E-Ink display on the other. With the Bigme HiBreak Dual , switching screens depending on your activity will be a breeze if you don't mind flipping your phone. The color E-Ink side would be much better for reading, web browsing, and outdoor use, reducing eye strain. Meanwhile, the usual LCD screen allows users to switch back for normal smartphone activities like gaming or video streaming, where higher refresh rates are essential. While brands like YotaPhone and Hisense have already released dual-screen phones in the market before, their secondary displays were limited to black and white e-ink. Bigme will be the first manufacturer to implement a color E-Ink screen into this form factor. Will you buy this product at a reasonable cost? Comment down below. UPDATE...
